콜라덤은 porcine 유래의 TypeI아텔로콜라겐으로 이루 어져 있으며, TypeI콜라겐은 낮은 항원성, 지혈효과, 세 포 부착능력이 우수함에 따라 지혈제, 창상피복재, 봉합사 등의 의료용 생체재료로 널리 이용되고 있습니다. 콜라덤은 일반 외상 이외에도 화상(deep second de gree burn), 만성 궤양(욕창, 당뇨병성 족부궤양), 외과 시술후 지혈등에 사용 가능한 제품입니다.

콜라덤과 인공진피 비교

인공진피의 경우 지지체 안으로 세포가 자라 들어와 신생 진피를 형성하지만, 적용상에 지혈을 완전히 해야 하는 번거 로움이 있으며, 인공진피 두께 이상의 연부조직 결손이 심한 깊은 상처의 경우에 치유 후 함몰을 피할 수 없습니다. 반면 콜라덤은 자체 지혈작용이 있으며 연부 조직 결손이 심한 깊은 상처의 경우 콜라덤을 포개거나 겹쳐서 사용 함으로써 결손 부위를 채울수 있으며, 상처면의 건강한 육아조직이 형성된 후에 적용시에는 인공진피와 같은 지지체의 역할을 하게 됩니다.
