Insuregraf

InsureGraf® is used for dermal regeneration in cases of full-thickness skin defects. Its use is indicated in plastic surgery and in surgery for burn injuries combined with autologous skin grafts.

InsureGraf® is an acellular tissue substitute. The native structurally intact collagen serves as an essential component of the new extracellular matrix for the migration of cells and vascularisation. The programmed thickness of InsureGraf allows initial supply to the graft by diffusion and rapid vascularisation. As the healing process advances, the fibroblasts produce their own collagen matrix while InsureGraf is degraded.

  • InsureGraf® is a highly-porous, native dermal matrix consisting of 100% collagen derived from porcine skin.
  • InsureGraf® provides the structure for organized colonization by dermal cells and the reconstruction of a well organized dermis.
  • In combination with a thin split-thickness skin graft, InsureGraf® enables the successful reconstruction of severe, full-thickness skin defects in a single-step procedure

Efficacy of Collagen

  • Collagens make up ~25% of total protein mass in mammals - Low Antigenicity (Allogenic & Xenogenic)
  • Exists in large quantity in ECM of skin, bone, tendon,.. (connective tissue for support and protection.)
  • Each fiber consists of fibrils.
  • Fibrils contain collagen molecules, made of three coiled polypeptide α-chains.
  • Collagens are rich in proline (stabilizes helical structure) and glycine (allows the dense packing of three α-chains)
  • Collagen fibers withstand high pulling forces. (It takes 10 kg to rupture a fiber of 1 mm.)
